Vertigo Home Treatments
If you’re feeling dizzy and have the sensation of vertigo, you might want to lie down. Do not lie flat on your back, however. This can cause the vertigo sensation to become worse. Try lying on your back with your head propped up by pillows. Simply sitting down for a few minutes can also help with minor cases of vertigo.

If you suffer from repeated attacks of vertigo, you may want to start using a cane. The cane will help you get up and down and reduce your chances of falling over. The cane can also help you walk without injury if you suffer from sudden attacks of vertigo.

If you’re experiencing vertigo, remember to move slowly. Keeping your movements slow and deliberate reduces your chances of injury. Be particularly aware of what movements increase the dizziness and make sure to perform these types of movements slow and carefully.

Try to focus on a single object if you feel vertigo coming on. Keeping your focus on a single, steady object can help alleviate the feeling of dizziness caused by vertigo.

Use quality lighting and night lights if you experience vertigo at night. Keeping areas well lit will help reduce the chance of injury. This is especially helpful if you experience a sudden onset of vertigo when you get up during the night to go to the bathroom or grab a snack.
