Scrub lesions with gauze and antiseptic soap. Break any pustules. Remove all crusts, and expose and cleanse all lesions. If crusts are difficult to remove, soak them in warm soapy water and scrub gently.
Use separate towels for each person, or substitute paper towels temporarily.
Cover impetigo sores with gauze and tape to keep hands away from them.

Turnip is found very beneficial in the treatment of impetigo. Chopped turnip immersed in natural vinegar or rice water for 6 hours can be eaten.
You can make a paste of Vaseline and cornstarch to apply to the diaper area. Vaseline helps to heal sore irritated skin and cornstarch helps to dry up the rash.
Good home remedy for impetigo - Bathing in soapy water every 4 hours during the day is helpful. Severe cases may require a slightly salty or hydrogen peroxide application (3 parts water to 1 part 3% peroxide). Apply soaks or warm compresses to the attached crusts. Hot and cold compresses may be applied after the crusts are gone. At night, charcoal poultices can be attached and left overnight. Removal of the crusts results in a more rapid cure.

Effective home remedy for impetigo - Put ¼ cup of rosemary leaves and ¼ cup of thyme in 2 cups of water. Simmer for 15 minutes. Strain cool and use to clean the area several times daily. Make fresh daily. Use cotton balls to clean the area and dispose of the cotton balls after use. This is a good astringent to use as a wash. This is beneficial for the treatment of impetigo.
