How to Treat Fungus With Listerine
Step 1
Remove all nail polish and wash the affected area with soap and warm water. You must leave the nail polish-free for the duration of the treatment to encourage oxygen circulation to the nail bed.

Step 2
Fill a small basin with Listerine. If you are treating fungus on the fingernails, you can use a small glass to stretch your Listerine supply.

Step 3
Soak the affected nails for 30 minutes. Repeat soaking twice a day. You mustn't skip a single day, as any fungal spores that survive can continue to colonize the nail.

Step 4
Double up on your treatments by applying mini-treatments of Listerine throughout the day. Keep a small container or vial of Listerine with you and apply to your nail with a clean cotton swab several times a day.

Step 5
Increase the efficacy of the treatment by adding vinegar to your Listerine soak. Acidic environments are lethal to fungi, so vinegar can hasten the cure. Use a one to one ratio of Listerine to vinegar.

Step 6
Continue your Listerine treatment until the affected nail has grown out completely. You must be dedicated, as this can take up to six months.
